“Curious George” is very similar to the storybook that many of us read growing up.  It was not
intended for the adult audience but rather for the single digit age bracket.  That said, I would
have to say that “Curious George” is by far one of the best cartoons I have ever seen for its
targeted audience.  While watching the audience, both kids and critics alike, I could not help
but notice the kids getting so enthralled that this movie actually made even the 2 year olds sit
still the whole way through. My personal favorites for kids’ movies are “Beauty and the Beast,”
“Shrek,” and “The Incredibles,” but for a movie aimed strictly toward kids, “Curious George”
BY FAR takes the cake.

We live in a time where studios feel the need to please everyone to sell tickets, however in
doing so they sacrifice the original content and intention of the authors.  I personally am tired
of the sad attempts to please everyone.  Kids need kid movies, adults need adult movies and
teens need teen movies.  Everyone but the kids seem to get movies targeted JUST toward
them, thus leading to most of the kids movies being PG instead of the age old G rating that
you so rarely see.  “Curious George” on the other hand, accomplishes its mission to the letter
of the law.  “Curious George” reminded me of a time when cartoons were clean and pure, and
of the days when Walt Disney did not mind making everything G rated because he wanted the
kids to have the greatest time in the world.  This is not a Walt Disney movie but it certainly
carries its weight in cartoon essence.  “Curious George” also has the feeling of the classic
cartoons that many of us grew up watching and it also maintains the crisp originality of the
artistry with which it was written.  The movie is filmed in 2D rather than the usual big budget
CG animation which actually helps the children separate fiction from reality.  Another of the
many things I liked about the movie is that unlike many cartoons today, “Curious George” is a
movie that is void of any political slant, anti family value statement and rebellious influence.
By the way "George" puts King Kong to shame in cuteness.

I cannot really say much more than that I loved the movie for kids.  It was so much fun
watching the parents fall in love with George and the kids relating to his childlike innocence.
The movie was fantastic and almost every little kid would love this movie.  This is a movie that
you can take a 3 year old to and they will probably sit very still and laugh their head off.
Parents will probably not love the movie as much as the kids, but your joy will come from your
kid's reaction.  The movie is fun for adults but don’t expect a movie aimed toward you.

Warning to Parents:  Absolutely None
