"Date Movie" is your standard issue spoof comedy, yet this time making fun of every single
romantic comedy we can think of. in modern day filmmaking.  If you are a fan of the Scary
Movie or Naked Gun kind of movies, then you will be pleasantly surprised that this movie
holds up relatively well.  There is a solid script and decent directing.  Personally I could not
help but be bored all the way through, however similar to my review of Pink Panther, this kind
of humor is not for me.  Judging by the audience's reaction, I would say that there was a good
amount of laughter, therefore I am sure that its core audience will walk about somewhat
pleased.  I say words like decent, somewhat and relatively because even if you are a fan, its
far from the funniest movie and a distant runner up to Scary Movie 1.

I really cannot go into the plot very much because the movie was not created for plot or acting
ability, it was made to poke fun at movies like Meet the Fockers, Hitch, the Wedding Singer,
When Harry Met Sally, How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days, and the list goes on.  However unlike
the majority of those movies which possess a certain amount of respect and wholesomeness,
there is nothing wholesome about "Date Movie".  This is without a doubt the filthiest PG-13
movie I have ever seen.  The in-your-face sexual jokes and content are so far over the top
that they lose their touch.  I have to admit, a dirty joke can get a chuckle out of most of us
once and a while.  Right or wrong, we are all prone to laugh at things that are inappropriate.
This movie gets into "Toys, Positions, and Taboos" in almost every single scene of the
movie.  Sadly it seems that the only way that a movie can get an R-Rating is if the movie
centers around a conservative agenda, has more than 1 F word, has nudity during sex or
violence.  In my opinion, this movie should have been a HARD R rating and certainly is NOT
for teens as the rating implies.

Warning to Parents:  STAY AWAY and DON'T LET THE KIDS SEE IT!  Many of your teens will
want to run out and see this movie because of the title and rating.  I strongly recommend that
you have them see "Firewall or Eight Below" instead, this movie is just down right not for kids,
teens or adults for that matter.
The word "God Da**" is said about 50 times and the movie's whole plot involves sex.
Although there is no nudity or sex acts, virtually every single discussion centers around the
subject.

Example:  This is how distorted the movie is.  In "Meet the Parents" there is a scene where the
urn is knocked over and the cat walks over to the ashes on the floor and urinates, thinking
that it was a kitty liter box.  Ok that was hysterical when you saw it on the screen.  "Date
Movie" has the same scene however this time the urn is huge and instead of ashes, its got
the dead corpse of his mother.  The cat walks over to the corpse and starts to have sex with
the corpse.  That's just sick and completely not a PG-13 type of scene.

I heard a quote and I could not agree more:  "If Date Movie is PG-13, then Dick Cheney is
Sportsman of the Year”.
