Firewall proves that Harrison Ford still has star power and stamina to carry a fast paced
thriller.  Unlike a few of his recent movies where he looks like he is about to retire and head
for the senior home, Harrison Ford is in full swing as the hero and actioneer.   Firewall was
absolutely vital for Harrison Ford, given the fact that he is about to start filming Indiana Jones
4.  In an interview, he said that he wanted to show the public that he can still do action and
still carry his weight as the hero.  Well, the jury is in and the decision is certainly in Ford's
favor.

In Firewall, Ford  plays Jack who is one of the partners in a security firm for banks and other
financial institutions.  Right in the middle of a huge merger, Jack start to realize he is the
target of identity theft and eventually realizes that there are more sinister plots looming.
About ten minutes into the movie, Jack's family is kidnapped and he is ordered to transfer
$100,000,000 from various clients into the thieves accounts in the Cayman Islands.  Similar to
"Ransom", Ford eventually turns the tables on the bad guys and empties their accounts of all
their money so that he can save his families lives.

Firewall was your standard issue thriller wrapped intelligently with excellent character
development, a strong script with lots of originality, and strong suspense that eventually leads
to an excellent climax and ending .  Firewall reminded me so much of the mega hit television
show "24" and  had 3 of the characters of the show in the movie.  Yes everyone, Cloe is in
the movie and she acts the very same way.  Just to add to the similarity, the heroes name is
"Jack" similar to "Jack Bauer".

I actually loved the directing in the movie as well.  There are many shots that remind you so
much of an old Alfred Hitchcock movie and actually appear to be taken directly from a movie
like "North by Northwest".  Not to mention the music in the second half of the movie is classic
and orchestrated to perfection.  This was a pleasant surprise from Harrison Ford  and was
one of his most fun movies in the last couple of decades.

Firewall is not without its flaws and you are forced to suspend reality.  I am sure that every
techy is going to say "Oh that would never happen" but then again, it's a movie and not to be
taken as a cinematic masterpiece but an opportunity to escape from reality.  None of the
flaws really take away from the movie, but rather just remind you that it is what it is.

Warning to Parents:   This movie is probably totally fine for most kids and teens.  However
there are a few bad words in the movie, including 1 F bomb in the beginning.  The foul
language is oddly very minor.  There are no sexual references and no nudity.  There is some
rough violence but nothing too intense or bloody.
