Curran

Underworld: Evolution is the continuing saga of the battle between the
Werewolves and the Vampires who have been fighting for centuries.  Kate
Beckensdale play a Death Dealer named Selene who has avenged her
fathers death by killing the evil leader of the Vampires in the previous movie
and now has to face the leader of the Werewolves.  Death Dealers are a
higher form of Vampire who have morals and try to bring equality to the
balance of power by foiling any plan to overthrow the human race.  Kate
Beckensdale resembles the formulaic superhuman who has a thirst for blood
and a love for mankind.  Selene is basically Blade without all of the steroids.
There is not a whole lot to the plot other than that.  Serene is accompanied
by her boy toy Hybrid buddy and must save the world from the insane Markus
from unleashing his brother (William) Werewolf who has been locked up for
hundreds of years.  William happens to be the most powerful Werewolf in
History and was locked up for his thirst for murdering the innocent.

Underworld has your a very formulaic plot, very generic love interest and all
of the stereotypical action scenarios, but at the same time I could not help but
really enjoying this movie.  OK, I am your typical guy and I actually like the
Critical Bombs like Blade and Lost Boys, therefore Underworld is no different.
It delivers the goods with excellent special effects and brings a Matrixesque
feel to the action.  Underworld may be been standard issue in plot but is has
solid in acting, directing and visuals.  If you want to just leave your brain at
home and not be too critical, this movie is for you.

Warning to Parents:  This movie does include lots of Blood, Violence (from
Vamps and Werewolves), Sex, Nudity and Language.  Yes all of the bad stuff
and no I cannot recommend this movie from a Christian point of view because
it is just downright inappropriate. However the movie was a thrill ride and a lot
of fun.   This movie is certainly not for kids or teens.
